Nissan Presage U30 (1998-2001)

The first generation Presage was launched by Nissan in June 1998 as a competitor to the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Estima on the market. Available he was seven or eight seats and an optional all-wheel drive. Many components of the car were taken from the Nissan R'NESSA, although some components from detached Nissan Bassara come.

The models with front-wheel drive are equipped with electronic brake force distribution, which distributes the braking force controlled electronically depending on the load optimally between front and rear wheels. This system is coupled to a brake assist to ensure an effective use of the braking force and a lower pedal pressure. This results in a better braking performance with a reduction of the required pedal pressure in critical situations, even when the vehicle is heavily loaded. For versions with all-wheel drive system works on the same principle, but the braking force distribution with a load-dependent control is carried out mechanically. Thus, approximately the same level of braking performance. All rear seats are folded, but only the second -row seats can also be removed from the car.

Available was the Presage with a 3.0 -liter V6 petrol engine and two -line four- cylinder: a 2.4-liter petrol engine and a turbo diesel engine with 2.5 liter displacement. As a four-stage automatic transmission was used.

In the course of a facelift in August 2001, the four-cylinder has been removed from the range and replaced by a gasoline engine with 2.5 liters, which was also designed as a four-cylinder. In addition, low optical changes were made and the sporty trim Highway Star added.
