Paccar Inc. is one of the largest truck manufacturer in the United States. The company is listed on the S & P 500. The company's headquarters is located near Seattle in Bellevue, Washington.

Company History

William Pigott Senior founded in 1905, the Seattle Car Manufacturing Company in Bellevue, which produced first railroad and logging equipment. After the merger with the company Twohy Brothers of Portland (Oregon ), the company in Pacific Car and Foundry Company was changed.

From 1941 she built Sherman tanks and rescue equipment as well as dry docks and tractor. Later she delivered the steel construction for the Space Needle in Seattle. 1945 Pacific Car and Foundry bought the Kenworth Motor Truck Company in Seattle. 13 years later followed Peterbilt Motors Company and Dart Truck Company. In 1972 the company name was officially changed to PACCAR Inc., the name of Pacific Car and Foundry Company designated a further division.

In 1981, the jump to Europe with the acquisition of the British manufacturer Foden Trucks. In 1996, the Dutch DAF Trucks N.V. and 1998, the British company Leyland Trucks over.
