Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi

Perejaslav -Khmelnytskyi (Ukrainian Переяслав - Хмельницький; Russian Переяслав-Хмельницкий/Perejaslaw-Chmelnizki ) is a city in the Kiev Oblast of Ukraine with 29 836 inhabitants ( 2006). Perejaslav -Khmelnytskyi is located on the banks of the river Trubisch southeast of Kiev and is the capital of the eponymous Rajons.

History

Perejaslav -Khmelnytskyi played an important role in the history of Ukraine. The city has been mentioned as 907 Perejaslav documented. The city's name means " the glory has taken over ."
