Pernod Ricard

Pernod Ricard is a French wine and spirits group, which is created in December 1975 by the merger of Pernod and Ricard, who are known for their like Anise.

Pernod came originally through the production of absinthe to prominence. Since the lifting of the ban in the corresponding states of the European Union, an absinthe is again produced. The headquarters is located in Cologne in Germany.

History

Represented on four continents, Pernod Ricard ranks behind Diageo in second place of the international spirits producers. 1988 bought the company Irish Distillers and got away with it in the possession of all time producing Irish whiskey distilleries. In 1998, the Yerevan Brandy Company was acquired. In 2001 she took over the business of Seagram Spirits and on 5 July 2005 the incorporation of the spirits group Allied Domecq. Thus, the Cartel Office agreed to had separate Pernod Ricard of some brands (among Ardmore, Bushmills, Laphroaig, Tullamore Dew ). Fortune Brands acquired the trademarks Canadian Club, Clos du Bois, Courvoisier, Harvey's Bristol Cream, Laphroaig, Marker 's Mark and Sauza. After the acquisition of Vin & Sprit Pernod Ricard had to commit, other brands to sell. As announced on 8 April 2009, to the whiskey brand Wild Turkey, American Honey liqueur, distillery in Kentucky and bourbon stocks until 30 June 2009 for 575 million dollars to the Davide Campari - Milano SpA are sold. On August 18, 2012, the Managing Director of Pernod Ricard, Patrick Ricard died at the age of 67 of a heart attack in Paris.
