Pittem is a Belgian municipality located in the Flemish region with 6763 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012), which comprises the main town and the village Egem Pittem.

Pittem is 4 km west of Tielt, 11 km northeast of Roeselare, 18 km north of Kortrijk, 24 km south of Bruges, 32 km west of Ghent and almost 80 km west of Brussels.

The next highway exits are located at Aalter Beernem and to the north by the A10 / E 40, Lichtervelde Ardooie and to the west by the A17 and at Deinze, Waregem and Kortrijk in the south east on the A14 / E 17 The next regional stations are available in the neighboring cities Tielt, Roeselare, Izegem, Aalter and Deinze. Twinning

Pittem maintains since 1984 the U.S. city of Shawnee official twinning. Since then held an annual exchange between the two communities.

With the French commune of La Meyze in Limousin since 1981 consist friendly connections. This meant that the mayors of the two municipalities on July 16, 2000 signed an official twinning instrument, which was adopted by Pittemer council on 30 October 2000.
