Red Eléctrica de España

Red Eléctrica de España ( REE) is a publicly traded company based in Madrid, which is responsible than the national transmission system operators in Spain for the operation of the electric high-voltage grid. REE was founded in 1985 and was the first company whose business consisted solely of the energy shipping. Main shareholder with 20% state Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales ( SEPI ).

REE has more than 38,400 km cable length and approximately 3,400 substations most of the Spanish high- voltage network ( as of 2010).

The telecommunications subsidiary Albura with approximately 7,500 kilometers of fiber optic cable was established in 2005 for 61.5 million euro of T-Online from the energy company Red Eléctrica de Espana SA taken.
