Robert Emmiyan

Robert Emmijan (Armenian Ռոբերտ Էմմիյան, English transcription Robert Emmiyan, . Born February 16, 1965 in Leninakan, now Gyumri ) is a former Armenian long jump to reach his major successes in the team of the Soviet Union.

Robert Emmijan 1986 European champion and presented in 1986 and 1987 European records. Its 8.86 - meter jump from 1987 is valid European record, and Emmijan putting it in fourth place of the eternal world leaderboard (as of 15 March 2009).

Career

Even with 16 years Emmijan was with 7.77 m World Best in its age group. In 1983, he skipped the first time the eight -meter limit. In the same year he finished third at the Junior European Championships ( 7.83 m). In 1984 he won at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg with 7.89 m bronze, seven inches behind the champion Jan Leitner ( Czechoslovakia).
