Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Pouso Alegre
The Archdiocese of Pouso Alegre (Latin: Archidioecesis Pouso Alegre ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in Pouso Alegre in the state of Minas Gerais.
History
Pope Leo XIII. founded the bishopric of Pouso Alegre on August 4, 1900, the Apostolic Constitution Regio latissime patens out of territory of the Archdiocese of Mariana and it became the Archdiocese of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro was assumed as suffragan. On 1 May 1906, was part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Mariana.
A part of its territory it lost on February 3, 1916 in favor of the establishment of the diocese Guaxupé. With the Bull Qui tanquam Peter it was raised on 14 April 1962 Archdiocese.

The Archdiocese of Pouso Alegre includes the municipalities of Pouso Alegre, Andradas, Bom Repouso, Borda da Mata, Brasópolis, Bueno Brandão, Cachoeira de Minas, Caldas, Camanducaia, Cambuí, Carvalhópolis, Conceição dos Ouros, Congonhal, Consolação, Córrego do Bom Jesus, Delfim Moreira, Espírito Santo do Dourado, Estiva, Extrema, Gonçalves, Ibitiúra de Minas, Inconfidentes, Ipuiúna, Itajubá, Itapeva, jacutinga, Maria da Fé, Monte Sião, Munhoz, Ouro Fino, Paraisópolis, Piranguçu, Piranguinho, Poco Fundo, Santa Rita de Caldas Santa Rita do Sapucaí, São João da Mata, São Sebastião da Bela Vista, Sapucaí -Mirim, Senador Amaral, Silvianópolis, Toco do Moji, Toledo, Turvolândia and Wencelau Braz of the state of Minas Gerais.
