The coat of arms depicts the Katzenbach ( Seebach ) that which opens into the larger Leutschenbach. The three golden stars refer to the former landlords Seebach: the pin Grossmünsterplatz, the Monastery Wettingen and gentlemen of Kyburg.

History

The name Seebach was first mentioned in 1212. However, there are findings from the 6th century BC, so that the former village is likely to be beyond doubt older. The Katzenbach, who formerly was called Seebach, southern Oberndorf separated on the slope of Buhnhügels from the second part of the village, the Ausserdorf. 1877 built the Swiss National Railway (SNB ) is a railway line through the Furttal with a station in Seebach. But the railway company went bankrupt shortly thereafter, as the lines did not result in the large centers and thus could not attain great importance for passenger traffic. More successful was the tram line from Zurich to Seebach, which was built in 1897.

Until about 1930 Seebach had its own zoo.

In 1935, the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Lourdes was built.

Incorporation

In 1934, Seebach - incorporated in Zurich - together with Oerlikon, Affoltern, Schwamendingenstrasse, Witikon, Hoengg, Altstetten and Albisrieden.

Local structure

Seebach is bordered to the south quarters Oerlikon and Affoltern, east of the district Schwamendingenstrasse, north on the communities of Opfikon and Zürich.

The Schaffhausen, Glattalstraße and the Seebacherstrasse are the actual main roads. The Seebacherplatz forms the center of the district.

The Seebach station is serviced by the line S6 S-Bahn Zurich. The railway line runs from the Oerlikon train station from a 50 - degree turn to the Seebach and from there towards Zürich-Affoltern/Oerlikon and rain village.

The industrial and commercial zone is mainly east of Schaffhausen street, while the western residential areas and green areas of Seebach be found. Thus, the auditorium and Center, the Sunrise Tower, Oerlikerhaus and on Leutschenbach include at Schaffhauserstrasse Oerlikon Space and EDS, along Thurgauerstrasse to find the studio of Swiss Television.

Churches

The Evangelical Reformed Church in Seebach has two churches:

Seebach has a highway connection to the A1/A4 and a well- developed public transport network.

Public transportation

Seebach is further connected in Zurich city center by tram line 14 and with Oerlikon. Since 10 December 2006, extended from the Hallenstadion Tram line 11 takes you through the Thurgauerstrasse after Auzelg in circuit 12, while the distance covered is part of the first stage of the Infratrukturprojekts Glatttalbahn.

By bus 768 Seebach is connected on one side directly to the Oerlikon train station, on the other hand, with the northern communities Opfikon and Kloten and to the Zurich airport. Bus number 742 connects Seebach with the northern neighboring municipality of Zürich. Bus lines 29 and 75 form the backbone of Fine closure within Seebach. Friday and Saturday night, run the night bus N6 and N7 from Bellevue to Seebach and then serve suburban municipalities of Zurich.
