Spělkov

Spělkov ( German Spielkau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers south-west of Polička and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Spělkov is located in the southeast of the Saarer mountains on the right side above the valley of the Svratka at the inflow Spělkovský creek. The Moravian village is located south along the Svratka running historic border with Bohemia. To the north of the Na Lunáku collected ( 624 m), south of the current ( Stromberg, 771 m ) southwest of the Buchtův Kopec ( Lowenberg, 813 m) and Vysoký Kopec ( High Mountain, 806 m), in the northwest of Hatě ( 655 m ).

Neighboring towns are Pustá Rybná, Maděra and Landráty in the north, Telecí in the northeast, Kutiny, Borovnice and Lačnov the southeast, Javorek, Jimramovské Paseky and Daňkovice in the south, Podlesí in the southwest, Krasne in the west and Mrhov and svety in the northwest.

History

Spělkov was founded in the 13th century during the colonization of the forests on the Moravian - Bohemian border by the Lords of Medlov. The first mention of Spielkowicz was in 1392, when signed over several villages as Aussteuergut William I of Pernštejna in the course of his marriage his wife Markéta of Jakubov. 1437 secured by Johann Pernštejna in the same way his wife Barbara von Waldstein. Spielkowicz was first placed under the judge of Bystřice and from 1483 was used for Krasne own judge and Spielkowicz. In local seal of Spielkowicz since 1483 exists. During the division of the rule Pernštejna by William II of Pernštejna Spielkowicz was from the year 1500 to Nove Mesto - Ingrowitzer share. 1631 consisted of seven Spielkowicz peasant farms. After the end of the Thirty Years' War, only five economies are listed in the hooves register. Below the village grew and in 1840 lived in Spielkau 376 people. This was the highest number of inhabitants in the history of the village.

After the abolition of patrimonial Spělkov / Spielkau formed in 1850 a municipality in the administrative district of Nove Mesto. 1880 established the Reformed congregation western of the village a graveyard. In 1930 Spělkov had 206 Einwohner.1949 the community was associated with the Okres Polička. Since 1961 it belongs to the Okres Zdar nad Sázavou. Spělkov is a resort today. Only 16 of the 38 houses are permanently used for residential purposes. Moreover, in the vicinity of the village there are eleven cabins.
