Super Nova Racing

Super Nova Racing is a British motor racing team, which is currently active in the GP2 Series and the A1 Grand Prix. Team Principal David Sears. Known earlier drivers are for B. Kenny Bräck, Ricardo Zonta, Juan Pablo Montoya, Mark Webber and Sebastien Bourdais.

Super Nova Racing was founded in 1991. The team emerged from the Team David Sears Motorsport and was sponsored by Nova, a company active in Japan language school chain.

Supernova went from 1994 to 2004 in F3000 and took from 2005 to 2011 on the follow-up series GP2 in part. In the 2008 season, first drove Christian Bakkerud Álvaro Parente and for the team; Bakkerud was replaced after the third race weekend by Andy Souček. The team started with Fairuz Fauzy Bakkerud and also in the 2008 inaugural GP2 Asia Series. In the second season of this racing series Supernova is represented by Javier Villa and James Jakes.

In eleven Formula 3000 seasons Supernova won the team title five times, four the drivers' championship, 27 races and 26 pole positions. Together with DAMS and Arden International supernova is therefore one of the best Formula 3000 team.

The team has so far participated in all seasons of the A1 Grand Prix. Since the first season 2005/2006 provides the supernova racing for A1 Team Germany, which won the race series in 2006/2007. Since that season's Super Nova also works for A1 Team New Zealand. In the season 2005/2006 it also represented the team for A1 Team Pakistan.
