Tarqeq ( Saturn LII) is one of the smaller outer moons of the planet Saturn.

Discovery

The discovery of Tarqeq by Scott S. Sheppard, David C. Jewitt Jan and Brian G. Marsden on Kleyna recordings from 5 January 2006 to 22 March 2007 it was announced on 13 April 2007. Tarqeq first received the provisional designation S/2007 S 1 It was named after Tarqeq moon, the moon spirit from the mythology of the Inuit.

Tarqeq orbiting Saturn on an eccentric orbit at an average distance of 17,910,600 km in about 894 days and 22 hours. The orbital eccentricity is 0.108, the orbit is inclined with 49.904 ° to the ecliptic. Tarqeq belongs to the Inuit group of Saturn's moons.
