Trois-Rivières Draveurs

The Draveurs de Trois- Rivières was a Canadian ice hockey team from Trois- Rivières, Québec. The team played from 1969 to 1992 in one of the three highest Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League ( QMJHL ).

History

The team was founded in 1969 under the name Ducs de Trois- Rivières Quebec Major Junior franchise of the Hockey League, with which they were one of the founding members of the League. After the 1973/74 season in the name Draveurs de Trois- Rivières was changed, under which she played until 1992. Her biggest success reached the Draveurs by winning the Coupe du Président in the season 1977/78 and 1978 / 79th First defeating the Junior de Montreal 8-0 in the final in 1978 and a year later the de Sherbrooke Castors with the same result. As a master of the QMJHL they qualified then each for the final tournament at the Memorial Cup, in which they, however, could not prevail against the other teams in the Canadian Hockey League itself. In addition to the title win in the QMJHL, the team from Trois- Rivières in 1981 failed, in 1982 and 1992 respectively in the final.

Following the 1991/92 season, the franchise was relocated to Sherbrooke, where it subsequently participated under the name Faucons de Sherbrooke game on operation of the QMJHL.
