Trouvans

Trouvans is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Trouvans is located at 325 m, 8 km north of Baume- les -Dames and about 32 km northeast of the city of Besançon (air line). The village is located in the rolling countryside between the river valleys of the Doubs River in the south and Ognon in the north, in a basin in the headwaters of Crenu at the northern foot of the Mont du Ciel.

The area of ​​2.69 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the undulating countryside between Doubs and Ognon. The northern part of the area occupied by the basin of the Crenu (inflow of Ognon ), which is on average 300 m. It is mainly passed with arable and meadow land. To the south, the municipality's area covers over the slope of Trouvans up on the adjoining heights of Bois Verdot ( 445 m) and Mont du Ciel, on the 470 meters, the highest elevation of Trouvans is achieved. To the west of the municipality of soil ranges on the plateau of Mont Martin.

Neighboring communities of Trouvans are Huanne -Mont Martin in the north, Mésandans in the east, Rillans and Verne in the south and Tournans in the West.

History

With 89 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Trouvans is one of the smallest municipalities of the department of Doubs.
