Tuomo Ylipulli

Tuomo Sakari Ylipulli ( born March 3, 1965, in Rovaniemi ) is a former Finnish ski jumper. He jumped for the club of his birthplace, the Ounasvaaran Hiihtoseura.

Career

His debut on the international stage, he announced on December 30, 1982 at the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf; he reached the 14th place right away. In the following five years Ylipulli counted to advanced world leaders and achieve at ski jump often the front ranks. At the Junior World Championship 1983 in Kuopio, he won the bronze medal at the Ski Flying World Cup 1986 in Bad Mitterndorf he reached the fifth rank. His only World Cup victory came on January 6, 1987 at the Four Hills Tournament in Bischofshofen.

However, his greatest successes came in the passage quoted by Matti Nykänen Finnish team. With it, he was in 1985 and 1987 Team World Champion and won at the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988 gold in team jumping. After the winter 1987/88 he finished his career.

His older brother Jukka was a successful Nordic Combined; the younger brother Raimo also started as a ski jumper in the world cup.
