Veikko Kankkonen

Esa Veikko Antero Kankkonen (born 5 January 1940 in Sotkamo, Finland ) is a former Finnish ski jumper.

It was 1963/64 and 1965/66 the overall winner of the Four Hills Tournament. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 in Innsbruck, he won gold in the normal hill ( in Seefeld ) and silver on the large hill ( at Bergisel ). Since the Nordic World Ski Championships were held this year at the Olympic games, Kankkonen was at the same time World Champion and Vice World Champion. In the same year he received the Holmenkollen medal.

At the Olympic Winter Games 1968, he was the flag carrier of Finland, but did not win any medals.
