Defender of the single were Jimmy Connors in the men's and Billie Jean King with the ladies. In the men's doubles were Bob Lutz and Stan Smith, in women's doubles Rosemary Casals and Billie Jean King and Mixed Pam Teeguarden and Geoff Masters, the defending champion.
