Adin B. Capron

Adin Ballou Capron ( born January 9, 1841 in Mendon, Worcester County, Massachusetts, † March 17, 1911 in Stillwater, Rhode Iceland ) was an American politician. Between 1897 and 1911 he represented the second electoral district of the state of Rhode Iceland in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Capron Adin visited the Woonsocket High School in Rhode Iceland and then the Westbrook Seminary near Portland ( Maine). After leaving school, he settled in Stillwater (Rhode Iceland ), where he worked as a miller and grain trading. During the Civil War he served in a volunteer unit from Rhode Iceland on the side of the Union. By the end of the war he rose to the brevet Major.

Politically, Capron Member of the Republican Party. Between 1887 and 1892 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Rhode Iceland. Since 1891 he was president of the house. In 1892 he ran unsuccessfully for Congress. Four years later he was elected in the Second District of Rhode Iceland in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where he became the successor of Warren O. Arnold on March 4, 1897. After six re- election he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1911 seven legislative sessions. In 1910 he gave up another candidacy. Capron died two weeks after the end of his activity in Congress in Stillwater.
