Antti Tyrväinen

Antti Tyrväinen ( born May 11, 1933 Ylöjärvi, † October 13, 2013 in Tampere ) was a Finnish biathlete.

Tyrväinen was an officer of the Finnish army. He won the silver medal in the individual race over 20 km at the Winter Olympics in 1960 in Squaw Valley. Four years later he won at the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck 13th place in the same discipline.

In the Biathlon World Championships 1961, he was fifth in the individual race, but won with Kalevi Huuskonen and Paavo repo the unofficial title in the team competition, in which the three best individual results counted. There were silver medals at the Biathlon World Championships in 1962 and 1963 in individual and team competition and a bronze medal in the individual 1965.
