Ban Kruat District

Amphoe Ban Kruat ( Thai: อำเภอ บ้านกรวด ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the southeastern province of Buriram. The Buriram province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from west clockwise): Amphoe Lahan Sai and the Prakhon Chai Buriram Province and Amphoe Prasat Phanom Dong Rak and in the province of Surin. To the south of the county Ban Kruat borders the province of Oddar Meanchey Cambodia.

History

Ban Kruat in 1938 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the Tambon Ban Kruat was separated from Amphoe Chai Prakhon. In 1965 he was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

The county Ban Kruat is divided into nine subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 122 villages ( Muban ).

There are five small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Ban Kruat ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านกรวด ) consists of parts of tambon Ban Kruat and Prasat,
  • Talad Nikhom Prasat ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ตลาด นิคม ปราสาท ) also consists of parts of the tambon Prasat,
  • Ban Kruat Panyawat ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านกรวด ปัญญา วั ฒ น์ ) also consists of parts of the tambon Ban Kruat,
  • Nong Mai Ngam ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง ไม้ งาม ) consists of the whole tambon Nong Mai Ngam
  • Chanthop Phet ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล จัน ทบ เพชร ) consists of the whole tambon Chanthop Phet.

There are also six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
