Bang Rak District

Bang Rak ( Thai: บางรัก, bā ː ŋ rák, such as: " City of Love" ) is one of the 50 districts ( Khet ) of Bangkok, capital of Thailand. Bang Rak is located in the center of the city and is home to Bangkok's financial district. It includes the main roads Thanon Silom (English Silom Road) and Thanon Surawong.

Geography

Bang Rak is bounded on the north by the Rama IV Road ( Thanon Phra Ram 4), in the south of Sathon Road and to the west by the Chao Phraya River and the Maha - Phruetharam Street.

Bang Rak is bordered by four other districts, clockwise from the north: Pathum Wan, Sathon, Khlong San ( on the other bank of the Chao Phraya River ) and Samphanthawong.

History

The district Bang Rak was born in 1912. The original name of the area was originally in Thai บาง รักษ์ ( Bang Rak also spoken ), which means something like " place of healing ", because here was a major hospital. Traffic
