Bernex, Switzerland

Bernex is a municipality in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland.

To the municipality on the left bank of the Rhone include the hamlet Chèvres, Loëx, Lully, Sézenove and the deserted village Vuillonnex.

History

Bernex belonged to the Sardinian territory 1814 Geneva united. Here the Geneva 1590 were defeated by the Savoyard troops under Charles Emmanuel I..

The municipality was formed in 1793 under the name Bernex - Onex - Confignon. In 1850, the separation of the church today Onex and Confignon.
