Russian is a municipality in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland.

Geography

The municipality is located on the north shore on a hill above the Rhone River and its tributary Allondon against Cartigny and Aire- la -Ville. The 493 -acre community is located 398 ( end 2005) Russinois and Russi Noises and comprises the hamlets Verbois, La Chaumaz and Les Baillets as well as the village of Russin. 97 % of the municipal area are agricultural areas and forest.

The municipal area is the Rhone River ausnützende Laufwasserkraftwerk Barrage de Verbois.
