Genthod

Genthod is a municipality in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland. The parish includes the village and the hamlets Genthod Malagny and Creux -de- Genthod and is located on the right side of Lake Geneva between Bellevue and Versoix.

History

Genthod was from 1536 to 1564 under Berner, from 1564 to 1590 under the Savoy, from 1590 to 1601 under the Geneva and from 1601 to 1816 under French rule, before it was transferred to the Canton of Geneva.

On his estate in Genthod the Geneva philosopher and scientist Charles Bonnet retired 1768 and died there in 1793.
