Brande- Hörnerkirchen is a municipality in the district of Pinneberg, in Schleswig -Holstein. Brande, Hörnerkirchen and Bokelseß lie in the municipality.

Geography and transport

The community is located about eight kilometers north of Barmstedt. The nearest train station is located about a kilometer away in Westerville Horner district Dauenhof on the railway line Hamburg -Altona - Neumünster - Kiel / Flensburg and belongs to the Hamburg Transport Association. Until the federal highway 23, there are about four or eight kilometer ( driveways Hohenfelde or Horst / Elmshorn).

Culture and sights

The center of the town is the impressive octagonal church of 1752. Architect of the baroque central building was the architect Cay box, which also built the likewise octagonal church in Rellingen and the Trinity Church in Altona. After a serious fire in 1934 the church was rebuilt simplified. The mansard roof crowned by an octagonal lantern with a church has a separate wooden belfry of, 1781. Since 2006, takes place every year the medieval music and folk metal festival " Hörnerfest " in the vicinity of this town instead. In addition, the metal festival " Headbangers Open Air" is organized annually since 1998.
