Geography
The city of Quickborn about 21 km north- west of Hamburg, on the eastern edge of the circle Pinneberg, whose terms of area 's largest municipality is at the same time.
The city is situated on the main highway 7 between Hamburg and Neumünster. Quick Born is integrated over the line A1 of the suburban railway AKN and bus lines in the transport network of the Hamburg Transport Association.
Northwest of Quickborn is the Himmelmoor, the largest raised bog in Schleswig-Holstein (about 605 ha). It is used for peat extraction for a long time. A narrow-gauge railway was built by the moors for this purpose. South of the town is the 110 -acre nature reserve Holmmoor.
Quick Born is divided into three districts. In addition to the town center there is the more rural Quick Born- Renzel and Quick Born- heath, which consists primarily of single-family settlements and an important commercial area.
Climate
The annual rainfall is 836 mm, which is rather high, as it falls in the top third of the detected values in Germany. At 70 % of the stations of the German Weather Service lower values are registered. The driest month is February, the most rainfall comes in July. In July, falling 1.9 times more precipitation than in February. Precipitation varies moderately. At 63% of the monitoring stations, lower seasonal swings are recorded.

After the Schleswig-Holstein State Development Principles Act Quick Born is first order with partial functions of a sub- center since January 1 1974 the outskirts core. Coat of arms
Blazon: " In red on a silver fountain pile which grows out of the center of a rectangular brick silvery fountain basin and on both sides of a jet of water in the arc emits into the basin, a sedentary golden owl in front view, accompanied by two silver Seeblättern. "
The central figure of the fountain in the arms of the municipality Quick Born is "talking " icon for the place name. This fact means "living Born" or " fast bubbling spring ". In the artificially combined "Born " refers to the fountain in the coat of arms. The 1369 first mentioned place was one of the main trade routes, the army way or Ochsenweg. This artery was of particular importance, because for centuries on their herds from Jutland to Hamburg were driven. When Quickbornerheide Tavern " Uhlenkrog " rested people and animals on their transit. To commemorate this, the place known beyond its borders -making, the owl stands in the inn crest. The two Seeblätter represent the two large bodies of water in the municipality, the " Grote Lake " and the " Luetten lake ". The colors mostly used in coats of arms are red and silver to highlight the belonging to Holstein.

Culture and sights
Economy
Due to its proximity to Hamburg commute many residents in the Hanseatic city and find there their jobs. In Quickborn and its suburbs, there is only little agriculture, but also crafts, trade and service companies. The community Quickborn maintains a volunteer fire department with around 100 active volunteers to use. This makes the year between 150 and 200 inserts. The volunteer fire department also maintains a youth fire brigade with approximately 25 members.
