The B Grupa ( Bulgarian " Б " Професионална футболна група / B profesionalna futbolna grupa ) is the second highest professional football league after the Bulgarian A Grupa.
The league is composed of 16 teams each two man playing in a season against each other. Following the departure of FC Bdin Vidin and FK Sportist Swoge in July 2012 because they could not satisfy the license terms, the B Grupa season 2012/13 started with 14 teams. The two erstklassierten rise directly to the A Grupa. Place 11, 12, 13 and 14 play a qualification game to relegation to the third tier.
1950 B Grupa was founded. At that time, played only 14 teams in this league. Again and again emerging financial difficulties of clubs in the years 2006 to 2011 meant that over again team finished the participation in professional football in the middle of the season. Subsequently, the Bulgarian Football Federation decided in the winter break of 2011/12 to unite the two groups east and west again.
