Campitello di Fassa

Campitello di Fassa ( Ladin Ciampedel, German outdated Campitello di Fassa ) is a municipality with 734 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in Val di Fassa in the Italian province of Trento ( Trentino Alto Adige ). Its area is 25.1 km ².

Tourism

Tourism has Campitello di Fassa, where the drive to a widespread growth in any economic sector and has become the main source of income of the entire population. Campitello di Fassa was the first alpine tourist center of Val di Fassa, the starting point for almost all tours in the surrounding Dolomite groups. The present town stretches along the Dolomite road and is dominated by the massive, impressive Sassolungo. The Saints Philip and James consecrated village church is one of the oldest in the valley, it is mentioned in a document of the year 1245. It is somewhat increased. Campitello is located at the outlet of Durontales, which is named after the creek and the Rosengarten group shares of the Sasso Lungo. For centuries this valley is the grazing ground of the community Campitello, it is also known as "the street of the bread and wine " as the shepherds and traders of the Seiser Alm took this way to the Val di Fassa. Campitello is one of the initial locations for the Sella Ronda, the circumnavigation by ski the Sella massif.
