Coat of arms of Somalia
The coat of arms of Somalia was officially adopted on 10 October 1956.
Description
Thematically follows the crest of the Flag of Somalia, which is dominated by a silver star.
The coat of arms is blue with golden plate edge, topped with a five-pointed silver star, topped by a five-pointed golden heather crown.
Coat of arms holders are two erect natural-colored leopard, his head turned to the plate, being based on two crossed spears black with blue leaf, interwoven with a silver ribbon, on both two crossed green palm fronds.
Symbolism
The palm branches represent peace, the tape is only for decorative purposes.
As a sign of sovereignty put one label on an Arabic mural crown.
History
The Panthers already pointed to the crest of Italian Somaliland.
Parts of both coat of arms can be found in the 1956 introduced state arms again.
