National seal of the Comoros

The Union of the Comoros seal was adopted on 1 October 1978.

Description

The sealing of the Union of the Comoros is the state seal. It consists of a horizontal, green crescent, lying on the four white stars.

Behind it is located in the green of the so-called Star of Tadjoura.

Therefore, a circular, black banner is set, the the country's name in French, in the lower half shows in the top half in Arabic. These are in turn surrounded by a circle of two white- green olive branches.

Downstairs is a white banner with the state motto in French:

The design is the Comorian Order Ordre du Croissant vert modeled, which also consists of the eight-pointed star and the crescent placed with the four stars.

Symbolism

Like the flag of the Comoros, which shows the essential elements of crescent and star in green and white, also highlights the crest of the claim of the Comoros to Mayotte, the fourth island of the archipelago, which is a French overseas territory.
