Colligny
Colligny is a commune of 332 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Metz- Campagne and Canton Pange.
Geography
Colligny is about 10.5 kilometers east of Metz at an altitude 218-285 m above sea level. The municipality covers 3.61 km ².
History
The village was first mentioned in 977 as Collau or Collini. It was probably originally a Gallo- Roman settlement. The municipality has at times been an enclave of the Duchy of Lorraine in the diocese of Metz.
1940-44 it was the Germanized name Kollingen.
