Cuse-et-Adrisans

Cuse -et- Adrisans is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Cuse -et- Adrisans situated at an altitude of 280 m above sea level, 14 km north of Baume- les -Dames and about 31 km west of the town of Montbéliard (air line). The village is located in the hills between the lowlands of Doubs in the south and Ognon in the north, in the valley of the Drigeon at the northern foot of Mount Roland.

The area of ​​5.42 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the hills south of the Ognontals. The central part of the area is traversed in an east-west direction from the about two kilometers wide valley of Drigeon, which provides for drainage to Ognon. Flanked the valley of partly wooded, partly planted with arable and meadow land hills. To the north of the municipality of soil ranges on the hill of Bois des Vignottes (395 m) and to the valley of the Ruisseau de l' Etang. South of Drigeon Valley passes through a 100 m high terrain level to Kalkhochfläche of Mont Roland. Here the highest elevation of Cuse -et- Adrisans is achieved with 425 m.

The double municipality consists of the villages Cuse (280 m) and Adrisans (275 m), both located in the valley basin of the Drigeon. Neighboring communities of Cuse -et- Adrisans are Cubrial in the north, Nans in the east, Fontenelle - Montby and Gondenans -les -Moulins in the south and Rougemont in the West.

History

The territory of Cuse -et- Adrisans was settled very early. The earliest evidence of human presence form several tumuli from the Iron Age in the Bois d' Adrisans. Also, from the Gallo- Roman and Merovingian time traces were found.

The parish Cuse was first documented in 1118. In the Middle Ages Cuse and Adrisans formed their own small dominion which was within the control of rule Rougemont. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France. Since the time of the French Revolution Cuse and Adrisans are summarized in a community. Today Cuse -et- Adrisans is a member of the Association of Municipalities Communauté de communes du Pays de Rougemont.

Attractions

Choir and transept of the church of Cuse date from the 14th century. The church has a significant interiors, including a Christ and a Peter statue from the 17th century, seven statues of the Apostles from the 16th century and two gold-plated statues from the 18th century. In the village there are also several wine growers' houses from the 17th century and a Ofenhaus also from the 17th century.

Population

With 278 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Cuse -et- Adrisans one of the small communities of the department of Doubs. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1891 508 persons were still counted ), only relatively small variations have since been recorded.

Economy and infrastructure

Cuse -et- Adrisans was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. In addition, there are today some of the local small business enterprises. Meanwhile, the village has been transformed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work.

The village has good transport links. It lies on the main road D50, which runs from Baume- les -Dames to Villers Exel. Through a local bypass the town center is now relieved of through traffic. The nearest links to the A36 motorway is located at a distance of about 15 km. Further road links exist with Rougemont, Nans -les -Moulins and Gondenans.
