Espen Andersen

Espen Andersen ( born July 12, 1961 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian Nordic skier.

Career

Andersen began his international career with the start at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1982 in Oslo, where he won the bronze medal in the team competition, together with Hallstein Bøgseth and Tom Sandberg. On 17 December 1983 he was in Seefeld in Tirol his debut in the World Cup Nordic Combined. He immediately reached the top 10 on March 8, 1984, he won his first and only World Cup race in Oslo. At the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, he landed in a single combination on rank 19 In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1984 in Rovaniemi, he won the team gold medal. A year later in Seefeld at the World Championships 1985 he won silver with the team. The 1985/86 season he finished as his most successful season in ninth place in the overall World Cup standings. 1987 Andersen finished his active career.

Andersen won in 1983, 1985 and 1986, the Norwegian league title in the team competition. A single title was denied him up to end of his career.
