George A. Bartlett

George Arthur Bartlett ( born November 30, 1869 in San Francisco, California, † June 1, 1951 in Reno, Nevada ) was an American politician. Between 1907 and 1911 he represented the state of Nevada in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Early years

George Bartlett moved with his parents to Eureka, Nevada. There he attended the public schools. Then he studied until 1894 at Georgetown University in Washington law. After his were made in the same year admitted to the bar he began this career in Nevada carry. Bartlett was also district attorney in Eureka County.

Political career

Bartlett was a member of the Democratic Party. In the congressional elections of 1906 he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. There he broke on March 4, 1907 from his party colleagues Clarence D. Van Duzer. After a re-election in 1908, he was able to implement his mandate in Congress until March 3, 1911. In the elections of 1910 Bartlett opted not to run again. His seat went to Republican Edwin Ewing Roberts.

After the end of his time in Congress, Bartlett worked as a lawyer in Reno. Between 1915 and 1918 he was Deputy Federal District Attorney for Nevada. Between 1918-1931 he was a two-year break, judges in the second judicial district of Nevada. He then worked again as a lawyer. George Bartlett, who was also the author of several books, died in June 1951 in Reno and was also buried there.
