Guo Yue (table tennis)

Guo Yue (Chinese郭 跃/郭 跃, Pinyin Guo Yue; born July 17, 1988 in Anshan, Liaoning Province, People's Republic of China) is a Chinese professional table tennis player. She is ten -time World Champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist. Guo Yue is still the youngest player to ever played a World Cup final ( 2004).

In 2010 she was inducted into the ITTF Hall of Fame.

Youth

At six years old Guo Yue began playing table tennis. Discovered and promoted it was the provincial coach Gu Zhenjiang. As a twelve year old, she was a member of the youth national team, which was supervised by Cai Zhenhua. In the same year she finished second at the Asian Cup youth. Two years later, she played for the first time in the national team of adults.
