Hellimer

Hellimer is a commune with 605 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Forbach and Canton Grostenquin.

Geography

The village is located in the northeast of Lorraine, about 17 kilometers south of the border town of Freyming -Merlebach directly Diffembach -lès- Hellimer.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1121 as Heylimer. Other names were Helgemer ( 1315), Helgenmöre ( 1509 ) and Helymer (1700).
