Racrange

Racrange ( German: Rakringen ) is a commune of 625 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Forbach and Canton Grostenquin.

Geography

The village is located 40 km south-east of Metz.

History

The town was first mentioned in 926 as Racheringa. Other names were Raikeringe ( 1181 ) and Raqueringuen ( 1361 ).
