Maxstadt

Maxstadt is a commune with 324 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Forbach and Canton Grostenquin.

Geography

Maxstadt is located about ten kilometers southeast of the former mining town of Saint -Avold and about 18 kilometers from the border of the Saarland. The nearly 8 km ² comprehensive municipal area is dominated by arable and grassland areas, only in the East, the community shares in small forest areas. Drained the environment by the Langenbach and other small tributaries of the German Nied. To the south the little rugged terrain gradually rises to heights over 300 meters above sea level.

Visible from afar is a great granary southeast of the core site.

Neighboring communities of Maxstadt are Biding in the north, Barst in the northeast, Hoste in the east, in the southeast and Altrippe Laning in the southwest.

Economy and infrastructure

The inhabitants of Maxstadt living from agriculture, particularly from cereal and fodder production, from small craft shops or commute to the industrial enterprises to Saint- Avold.

Maxstadt is off the national traffic flows. The Territory road 22 to Saint -Avold runs three kilometers west of Maxstadt in north-south direction. The nearest links to the A4 (Paris- Strasbourg) are in Farébersviller and Puttelange -aux -Lacs.
