Hohenweiler

High Weiler is the northernmost municipality in the Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg and has 1268 inhabitants (December 31, 2013).

Geography

The community of High hamlet located in the westernmost province of Austria, Vorarlberg, in the district of Bregenz north of Lake Constance to 503 meters. 44.2 % of the area is forested.

There are no other local villages in the High hamlet. The town borders the Austrian municipalities Hörbranz and Möggers and to the German community Sigmarszell in the district of Lindau.

History

When Gmünd mill were found remains of a Roman Burgus, a tower-like building that was built to reinforce the border fortifications between the forts at a distance of about 1.5 to 2 km, with an almost square floor area of ​​10 to 12 meters on a side.

Gmünd mill
