Horrenbach-Buchen
Horrenbach- Book is a municipality in the administrative district of Thun in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

Geography
The community is bisected by Teuffenthal. The western district of book forms the western half and basically consists of the hamlet of houses ( 1,008 m) and a few farmsteads. The eastern half Horrenbach community has no center of the settlement, but consists of several groups of houses and farmsteads. The creek Chäsereigraben, which flows from the left in the Zulg, is the only water in the district book, while there are some streams in the district Horrenbach. This is also much greater. Its boundaries run from the Sichle ( 1'952 m above sea level ) in a northeasterly direction to the Sigriswiler ridge along until the fall of Bach over. This forms the border with the neighboring community Eriz and unites with the Dräckergrabenbach and Kaltenbach (along with numerous other streams ) for Zulg. This is up to the confluence of the Prässerenbachs the entire northern boundary of the municipality. From the lower reaches of the Prässerenbachs the municipal boundary runs in a south-easterly direction back to Sichle. In the hamlet of Horrenbach are numerous larger wooded areas along streams. The largest forest areas, however, are the Hornegg and the Erizwald. The community is ( just behind tuna and Eriz, but clearly behind Sigriswil ) in area the fourth largest town in the administrative district of Thun. Also contributes to the large proportion of mountain area. Of the total municipality area of 2,037 hectares are therefore whole 10.0% unproductive area (mountains, cliffs). Together with the 38.2 % of its territory, which is covered by forest and woodland that makes up almost half of the territory. The other half ( exactly 50.4 %), especially in Book is used for agriculture and only 1.5% is urbanized area.
The district houses bordered to the north Unterlangenegg, on the northeast by Oberlangenegg, on the southwest by Homberg and to the southeast by Teuffenthal. The district Horrenbach bordered to the north and east Eriz, in the southeast of Beatenberg and the south and southwest of Sigriswil.

Beginning of 2005, there were 285 people in Horrenbach- Book.
Languages
The people speak in everyday life, a high Alemannic dialect, which belongs to the German dialects of Bern.

In earlier times, the entire population known for the Evangelical Reformed Church.

Beginning of 2005, there were 280 ( = 98.25 %), Swiss nationals and five immigrated from other countries people in the community.

The local authority consists of a five-member council. Mayor 's Wilhelm Balmer.
The voting shares of the parties at the national elections of 2011 were: SVP 80.4 %, BDP 5.1 %, EDU 3.2 %, FDP 2.1 %, Jimy Hofer plus 1.5 %, SP 1.4 %, glp 1.4 %, Alps Parliament 1.2 %, EPP 1.1 %, GPS 0.7 %, CVP 0.4 %.
Economy
The majority of the working population lives from agriculture ( livestock farming with milk production ) and forestry (including timber).
Traffic
The district is connected by the Book STI bus 33 Thun- Steffisburg - Teuffenthal to public transport. The district Horrenbach has no train and bus connections.
Book is on the road (tuna ) Steffisburg - Teuffenthal. Horrenbach is across leads via Teuffenthal and a small road from Linden (municipality Eriz ), accessible. The nearest motorway junction is Thun-Nord on the A6.
