Hradčany (Brno-Country District)

Hradcany ( German Radschans, also Radschan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located three kilometers southeast of Tišnov and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Hradcany located in the Bosko brázda at the southern foot of the hill Horka (284 m) between the creek and streams Lubě Čebínský. To the north the hill Klucanina rises (410 m), in the northeast of Vinohrad (372 m), to the east the Čebínka ( 433 m), in the south of Sokolí ( 398 m ) west of the Bačkovec (419 m) ​​and in the northwest the Kozi brada ( 366 m). Northeast of the village lies the substation Hradcany.

Neighboring towns are Železné in the north, and Všechovice Drásov in the northeast, Čebín the southeast, Sentice in the south, Sarka, Heroltice and Brezina in the southwest, and Žernůvka Závist in the west and Cerveny Mlyn and Tišnov in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Hradcany place in the year 1397th The village belonged to the estates of the monastery Porta Coeli and evolved over the years into a center of monastic estates. Until the secularization of the monastery in 1782 Hradcany always remained the Cistercian monastery submissive. After that, the village fell to the religious fund, the 1799 sold the reign Porta Coeli to William Mundy. He was succeeded in 1821 by the Baron Wittinghof.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hradšany formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Brno and judicial district Tischnowitz. At the end of the 19th century, the present-day city name Hradcany was common. Since 1896, the village belonged to the newly formed district Tischnowitz. Until 1922, the historic layout of the village had changed little. After the dissolution of Okres Tišnov the community came with the beginning of 1961 to Okres Brno- venkov. Between 1980 and 1990, Brezina was incorporated to Tišnov. Gepfarrt the village is by Tišnov.
