Geography

Huanne -Mont Martin is at 310 m, 9 km north of Baume- les -Dames and about 32 km northeast of the city of Besançon (air line). The village is located in the rolling countryside between the river valleys of the Doubs River in the south and Ognon in the north, in a basin in the headwaters of the eastern foot Crenu on the high plateau of Mont Martin.

The area of ​​3.43 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the undulating countryside between Doubs and Ognon. The eastern part of the area occupied by the basin of the Crenu, the average is 300 m and in the merge different source streams. It is mainly passed with arable and meadow land. Huanne -Mont Martin is at the upper entrance in a narrow valley, through which the Crenu westward flowing to Ognon. This gorge is flanked on the north by Mont Adam ( to 400 m) and in the south by the projection of Mont Martin. In the southwest of the community area includes the plateau of Mont Martin, on the 415 meters, the highest elevation of Huanne -Mont Martin is achieved.

The municipality consists of the two districts Huanne (310 m) in the basin of the Crenu and Mont Martin ( 390 m ) south on the headland of Crenu Valley. Neighboring communities of Huanne -Mont Martin Gouhelans are in the north, Romain and Mésandans in the east, and Trouvans Tournans in the south and Puessans in the West.

History

The plateau of Mont Martin has been inhabited since the 5th century. In the 12th century the castle Mont Martin was built, which was the center of a reign. It was in 1479 during the invasion of troops of King Louis XI. destroyed in the Franche -Comté, later rebuilt and destroyed again in 1637 during the Thirty Years' War. Huanne was a parish since the 13th century. Together with the Franche- Comté region came Montreal Martin and Huanne with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. In 1810 the previously independent municipalities Huanne and Mont Martin merged to today's double municipality. Today Huanne -Mont Martin is part of the municipal association Communauté de communes du Pays de Rougemont.

Attractions

The church of Saint -Jean in Huanne dates from the 13th century. From this time the portal is preserved, while the Gothic choir was rebuilt in the 16th century. A comprehensive restoration and enlargement of the church was made ​​mid-19th century. In Mont Martin are the ruins of the old castle.

Population

With 84 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Huanne -Mont Martin is one of the smallest municipalities of the department of Doubs. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1896 247 persons were still counted ), a significant population increase has been recorded since the early 1980s again. Since then, the population has doubled.

Economy and infrastructure

Huanne -Mont Martin was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) embossed village. In addition, there are today some of the local small business enterprises. Meanwhile, the village has also changed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work. Huanne is the site of an amusement park with swimming pool, mini golf and camping.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares on a secondary road that leads from Clerval after Avilley. The nearest links to the A36 motorway is located at a distance of about 9 km. Further road links exist with Gouhelans, Tournans and Trouvans.
