Humboldt County (Nevada)
Humboldt County is a county located in the state of Nevada in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Winnemucca.
History
The County was formed in 1856 after the separation of Utah as the first County and was named after the Humboldt River and thus by Alexander von Humboldt. First seat of county government was from 1861 to 1873 Unionville. It is the oldest county in Nevada.

According to the census of 2000, there were 16 106 people in the county. There were 5,733 households and 4,133 families. The population density was 1 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 83.21 % White, 0.51 % African American, 4.02 % Native American, 0.57 % Asian, 0.07 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 8.54 % from other races groups; 3.09% were descended from two or more races. 18.87 % percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Based on the county the population was spread out with 31.40 % under the age of 18, 7.50 % from 18 to 24, 31.20% from 25 to 44 years, 22.30 % between 45 and 64 years and 7.50% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 110.30 males to 100 females age 18 and over, there were 110.20 males.
The median income for a household was $ 47,147, and the median income for a family was $ 52,156. Males have a median income of $ 44,694, women $ 25,917. The per capita income was $ 19,539. 9.70% of the population and 7.70 % of families are below the poverty line. 10.40 % of those under age 18 and 10.80% were 65 years or older.
