Kerstin Kowalski

Kerstin Kowalski, formerly Kerstin El- Qalqili ( born January 25, 1976 in Potsdam -Babelsberg ) is a retired German rower.

With the Summer Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004, she won gold each with the quadruple sculls. The gold medal from Sydney 2000 they had achieved together with her twin sister Manja Kowalski. In addition, Kerstin El- Qalqili 1999, 2001 and 2002 World Champion on the open world championships ( the Junior World Championships, she won in 1994 that the under 23 -year-olds in 1995, 1996 and 1997). During her career she erruderte at World Championship races most gold medals only in its World Cup race in Milan 2003, there was only enough for the bronze medal in the quadruple sculls. She is known worldwide as the best beat woman in the skull area.

She is the former wife of the rower Iradj El- Qalqili.
