Larry Van Kriedt

Larry Van Kriedt (born 1954 in California, United States) was the first bassist of the Australian hard rock band AC / DC, which was founded in 1973 by Malcolm Young. Kriedt can except the bass other instruments, like the saxophone playing.

Early life

Larry was born into a musical family, who lived at that time in San Francisco. His father is a well known jazz musician named David Van Kriedt. His whole life revolved around music. So he began with nine years of playing bass and guitar at age twelve. Starting to sing and play the saxophone, he has 15 he studied jazz, harmony, composing and musical arrangements with his father.

In 1969, at age 15, he moved with his family to Sydney, Australia. There he met briefly Angus Young after his arrival. This brought him to an audition to Malcolm Young, who wanted to found the band AC / DC. After successfully played, he was bass player and one of the founding members of AC / DC.
