Liéhon
Liéhon is a commune of 104 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Metz- Campagne and Canton Verny.
Geography
Liéhon located southeast of Metz at an altitude 214-291 meters above sea level, the average height is 260 meters. The municipality covers 5.38 km ² (538 acres ).
History
During the enlargement of the airport Metz -Nancy- Lorraine in 2003, they found a villa from the first century, which was inhabited until the 4th century. In the villa also several golden artifacts were discovered.
Liéhon belonged as a French-speaking village to the last 247 municipalities whose name was Germanized in the First World War ( 1914-1918) on 2 September 1915. The name was changed to " Lieheim " and until 1918 was the official place name.
