Lorenzo Wright

Lorenzo Wright (Lorenzo Christopher Wright; born December 9, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, † March 27, 1972 ) was an American track and field athlete and Olympic champion.

In the 4 x 100 - meter relay of the 1948 Olympics, he was the second runner of the U.S. team that won the gold medal. In his actual special discipline, the long jump, he reached at the Games in London with 7.45 m only the fourth place, after he had jumped in the qualifying 7.53 m.

1948 and 1952 he won at the U.S. Championships in the long jump.

Lorenzo Wright was 1.73 m tall and weighed in his playing days 70 kg. He was shot by his wife in 1972.
