Lam Jones

Johnny Jones ( John Wesley Jones, born April 4, 1958 in Lawton (Oklahoma) ) is a former American sprinter and football player.

In 1976 he was Olympic gold medalist at the Olympic Games in Montreal in the 4 x 100 - meter relay. The U.S. quartet consisted of Harvey Glance, Jones, Millard Hampton and Steve Riddick. About 100 m was Jones, who was only nominated as a replacement for the injured Houston McTear, to sixth place.

During his college days at the University of Texas at Austin, he played in the late 1970s and American football and was at this time the nickname " Lam " (after his hometown of Lampasas ) because a teammate was also named Johnny Jones.

From 1980 to 1984, he played as a wide receiver for the New York Jets. As a world-class sprinter he escaped each cover player, but then had to catch the ball problems.
