Netherlands national futsal team

The Dutch Futsal national team is a representative sample of Dutch futsal players. The team represents the Dutch Football Association at international meetings. The team counted in the early phase of the sport among the strongest teams in Europe, with the turn of the millennium, the team slipped off into mediocrity.

Performance in tournaments

1982 and 1985 took a Dutch team participated in the World Championships of the Futsal World Association FIFUSA, but different in each case already out in the group stage. FIFA determined the Netherlands in 1989 as a venue for the first World Cup under the auspices of FIFA. The Dutch team came here to the final, where they lost 1:2 with Brazil. In the following three world championships (1992, 1996, 2000 ) selection different from each in the second round, 2004, 2008 and 2012 we had already failed in qualifying.

In the discharged since 1996 Futsal Championship with the 4th place was achieved in 1999 the best result. Since then, the team difference either in the preliminary round of (2001, 2005) or not even qualified for the European Championship finals (2003, 2007, 2010, 2012)
