Nizhnyaya Salda
Nischnjaja Salda (Russian Нижняя Салда ) is a town in Sverdlovsk Oblast (Russia) with 17,619 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The city lies on the eastern edge of the Ural Mountains, 150 km north of Oblasthauptstadt Yekaterinburg and 50 km east of Nizhny Tagil, on the River Salda. The climate is continental.
The city Nischnjaja Salda is the Oblast subordinated administratively directly.
Nischnjaja Salda is located on the railway line opened in 1912 Nizhny Tagil - Alapayevsk.
History
Nischnjaja Salda was 1760, when here a Nikita Demidov Akinfijewitsch ( the grandson of Nikita Demidov Demidowitsch ) belonging iron works was completed. In the 19th century, the ironworks played a significant role in the introduction of the then new production Russia, as a modified Bessemer process ( eg by Konstantin Polenov and Vladimir Grum - Grschimailo ).

Culture, Education and sights
In Nischnjaja Salda there is a research institute for mechanical engineering.
The city has a museum of local history.
On the western edge of the city extends a grove with up to 320 -year-old Siberian stone pines.
Economy
Besides the steel plant and rolling mill, there are companies in the construction (cement ) and forestry.
